Residents of Sumner County are required to have certain vehicles (including most passenger cars) inspected once a year.  The vehicle's registration (i.e., tags) cannot be renewed without passing this inspection.

A remote inspection station is held in White House once per month.  Here are the scheduled dates:

2008 Dates (All are on Fridays)
Times: 9 a.m. to noon

January 18
February 15
March 14
April 18
May 16
June 13
July 18
August 15
September 19
October 17
November 21
December 19

The location of the remote station is 427 Industrial Drive, which is behind the Public Works Building.

Note: Severe weather or operational constraints may prevent operation of this testing unit.  Please call the emissions testing hotline at (615) 399-8995 to insure the unit is operating.

You may also have your vehicle inspected at any of the five permanent inspections stations in Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson. and Wilson Counties.  The closest one to White House is at 951 Grassland Place in Gallatin, across form Volunteer State College and The Gap.  For more details and schedules on the permanent stations, please go to this link: http://www.state.tn.us/environment/apc/vehicle/
